5 Window OS Utilities: Accessories Menu The Accessories menu provides user with various tools and software that has been categorized under certain functions: Ease of Access System tools Other Tools

6 Accessories Menu - Ease of Access The accessibility tools that ship with Windows are intended to provide a minimum level of functionality for users with special needs. –Ease of Access Center –Magnifier –Narrator –On-Screen Keyboard

7 Accessories Menu - System Tools Windows OS are accompanied with several utility programs including: Disk Cleanup Disk Defragmenter System Information System Restore

8 System Tools – Disk Cleanup to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your drives. It can delete temporary files and system files, empty the Recycle Bin, and remove a variety of other items that you might no longer need. This process will frees up valuable disk space and improves system performance which can help your PC run faster.

9 System Tools – Disk Defragmenter is a tool that rearranges the data on your hard disk and reunites fragmented files so your computer can run more efficiently. Fragmentation happens to a hard disk over time as you save, change, or delete files. The changes that you save to a file are often stored at a location on the hard disk that's different from the original file. Additional changes are saved to even more locations. Over time, both the file and the hard disk itself become fragmented, and your computer slows down as it has to look in many different places to open a file.

13 System Tools – System Restore & Backup Backup allows you to make safety copies of data files for all people that use the computer You can let Windows choose what to back up or you can select the individual folders, libraries, and drives that you want to back up (important to you). Restore helps you restore your computer's system files (that you have backed-up) You can set the schedule of backup & restore or you can manually set it !

19 Other Tools – Remote desktop Connection Remote Desktop connects two computers over a network or the Internet. Once connected, you'll see the remote computer's desktop as if you were sitting right in front of it, and have access to all its programs and files.

20 Other Tools – Run Use to find or a short-cut way to open software/file. You can type the name of program, folder, document, or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you.

22 Libraries & Media – Documents By default, the Documents library shows all the documents located in the My Documents folder, but you can include other folders in your Documents library, too.

23 Libraries & Media – Pictures is a convenient location to store all of your digital pictures. Many graphic design and photo-editing programs use this location by default when you open or save pictures. It is also the default location to import pictures from your digital camera, scanner, or other media device.
