The Solution: The Express Deployment Tool (EDT) leverages a wizard-based graphical user interface allowing system builders to bypass dozens of hours of learning and hundreds of pages of text associated with traditional OPKs in a matter of 30-60 minutes. 2 | The Issue: Traditional Microsoft ® OPKs contain a wealth of technical information and are designed to meet the needs of the wide range of OEMs who build PCs. System builders often don’t have the time or resources to read through and implement pre-installation based on the traditional OPK.

3. EDT Overview The EDT was developed to help system builders quickly, easily, and correctly deploy PCs with Windows ® 7, Office 2010, PC Essentials, and Security Essentials. With only a few clicks, many of the more technically difficult options such as Hard Drive Recovery and adding software to the image can be enabled.
