STATION 1 You will needWhat to do  lemon juice  cotton swab  brown paper  hot plate With a cotton swab, write your name on the piece of brown paper using lemon juice. Heat the paper on the hot plate. Throw paper away after use.

STATION 2 You will needWhat to do  iodine  dropper  cornstarch  petri dish Place a small amount of cornstarch in the petri dish. Add one small drop of iodine to the cornstarch powder. Make your observations. Rinse the petri dish after use.

STATION 3 You will needWhat to do  salt  50 ml beaker  stirring rod  water Place a few crystals of salt in 20 ml of water and stir. What happens? Can the salt be recovered? How? Rinse beaker after use.

STATION 4 You will needWhat to do  pipette  baking powder  water  petri dish Add a pipette full of water to a small sample of baking powder in the petri dish. Make your observations. Rinse and dry the petri dish after use.

STATION 5 You will needWhat to do  dropper  vinegar  milk  50 ml beaker Add 3 droppers of vinegar to 20 ml of milk in a beaker. Observe any changes. Rinse beaker with milk & vinegar after you finish.

STATION 6 You will needWhat to do  petri dish  baking soda  vinegar  dropper In the petri dish, add a drop of vinegar to a small amount of baking soda. Observe what happens. Rinse and dry the petri dish after observing the results of the test.

STATION 7 You will needWhat to do  chalk (calcium carbonate)  petri dish  vinegar  dropper In the petri dish, add a dropper of vinegar to a small piece of chalk. What happens? Put the chalk in the garbage after observing and wipe out the petri dish.

STATION 8 You will needWhat to do  hot plate  aluminum foil  hot hands  candle wax Make a pan out of aluminum foil. Put a small sample of candle wax on the foil pan and gently heat over the hot plate. Use hot hands to move the hot foil. Observe the wax while it is being heated and after it is taken off the heat.

STATION 9 You will needWhat to do  water  aluminum foil  dropper  hot plate  hot hands Make a pan out of aluminum foil. Place a few drops of water in the pan. Using the hot hands, heat the pan on the hot plate. Does anything remain in the pan? Make your observations. Throw away the foil after using.

STATION 10 You will needWhat to do  sugar  aluminum foil  hot plate  hot hands Make a pan shape out of aluminum foil. Place a few crystals of sugar in the pan. Using the hot hands, heat the pan on the hot plate. Make your observations. Throw away the foil after using.

STATION 11 You will needWhat to do  #6 plastic  toaster oven  permanent markers  scissors  oven mitt  hole punch Use a piece of the plastic and write or draw a design with the markers. Punch a hole in the plastic if you want to make a key chain. Observe the plastic’s physical properties. Place the plastic on the tray and carefully place the tray in the oven for approximately 45 seconds. Compare the plastic now with the plastic before it was placed in the oven.
