Presentation transcript:

Greenhouse gases keep our world warm. Humans have been releasing extra greenhouse gases, which is the result of burning fuels like coal, oil and gas. If there was no Global Warming the earth‘s surface would be as cold as the moon's surface.

Greenhouse gases are also released by the exhaust of motor vehicles, the cutting and burning down of forests and factories. This rapid change in temperature has many impacts in climate and society.

The precipitation is made of: Rain snow hail Freezing rain.

The effects could include loss of crops, cattle, lack of food. Some people are left homeless, roads are destroyed, electricity cut down, communication problems etc. China

Because of the snow, people can not go to work, or to school, homeless people suffer a lot because they don’t have a warm place where to live. Crops are affected by the cold, by freezing them, and sometimes animals die for lack of food and cold. Menorca, Spain Buenos Aires 9/7/07 July

The freezing rain, first falls as if it were simple rain. But when it is already on the ground it freezes. USA

Hail causes many disasters. Destroys cars, trees, crops, hurts people, animals, umbrellas, breaks windows, roofs and everything which is exposed. Buenos Aires

Acid rain causes damages to Buildings

A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land

In our area we are subject to hailstorms throughout the summer and damaging our fields of crops.

Hail is a form of precipitation which consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice.precipitation

Extra fall: Cars can’t be driven and planes can’t fly because airports are closed.

Hail affects people by hitting them on their body.

Stop burning.

Do not cut down trees.

Acid rain can be stopped in many ways: 1. Limit the amount of waste gases formed when burning fossil fuels. 2. Use scrubbers. These are special devices. They are put in smokestacks. When coal is burned, the waste gases go through smokestacks. The scrubbers remove harmful waste products. This helps prevent acid rain from forming. 3. Add limestone to places that have been hurt by acid rain. The limestone soaks up the acid.

One of the newest methods of stopping the cycle of global warming is the technology of carbon capture or stopping carbon from even getting into the atmosphere. They build plants that can capture carbon and then store them. Not only we will be able to slow or stop the cycle of global warming, we can continue to produce coal and supply the energy.
