Building the student load figures and from this the revenue for the university budget QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) processing centre making offers to eligible applicants Two inter-related, entwined activities These activities are shown from two perspectives: the centre and the faculty

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R QUT by the numbers in 2005 University revenue: $477 million HECS-HELP (Govt & Students): $108 million Commonwealth supported student load: –20,628 EFTSL (3.8% above DEST Target) Faculty of Science (taught load): –Total: 2,447 EFTSL –Commencing: 1,146 EFTSL –Continuing: 1,301 EFTSL

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R Student Load Management Directed, consultative process Discussions across the university, re student load and distribution Revenue and its distribution are directly linked to the outcomes of the load management process Offer targets are calculated within the process The Integrated Planning Model (IPM) provides the tools used in the process

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R Integrated Planning Model (IPM) Developed in-house Sits within the QUT Corporate Reporting (QCR) system, which includes the data warehouse Modules for different points of the process In July – Commencing enrolment entry module In January – QTAC module

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R Timeline Julycommencing enrolment entry for the next triennium October QTAC on-time applications data available Novemberreview next year’s figures from July (focussing on QTAC offers) JanuaryQTAC process leading to around 10,000 offers at the start of 2006

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R IPM Enrolment Entry Commencing numbers entered in July and reviewed in November Faculties provide commencing enrolments Load for those enrolments is estimated by IPM Recommended offers calculated from enrolments

CRICOS No J a university for the world real R QTAC Offer Process Registrar has the delegated authority to make offers Registrar, Executive Director (Finance and Resource Planning) and their staff have developed this process in consultation with Faculty staff During the QTAC rounds, the ED FRP and staff offer advice to the Registrar Registrar and ED FRP discuss outcomes with VC, DVC (Academic) The IPM is released to Faculties for comment, with discussions where appropriate with the Executive Deans
