What is business crime? Proposed definition of business crime: Business crime is any criminal offence that is committed against a person or property that is motivated by the connection of that person or property to a business. Who does business crime affect? Issues of perception of a town as being safe Crime levels

The need to change... 22% reduction in number of high street shops by 2018 Significant job losses Online retail sales to increase from 12.7% to 21.5% by major/medium sized companies going into administration High Street consumer spending likely to reduce from 50% (2000) to 40% in UK town centres will need to shrink to survive Need to develop the problem towns This will present a range of social, economic and community safety challenges
