I am Earnest Ivey Evans better known as Chief Evans of the Wilcox County Sheriff Office. I have lived in Wilcox County my entire life. By putting GOD first in life, When I was hired by Sheriff Prince Arnold in 1979 there was 12 murders pre year. In 2009 there was no murder. I have worked for the Sheriff Office for over 30 years. This is a delightful opportunity for me to continue to serve the citizens of Wilcox County, as your Sheriff.

I have worked well with the Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies in and around Alabama: Camden and Pine Hill Police Department, U. S. Candidate For Sheriff Earnest “Chief” Evans As Chief Deputy Sheriff I maintain computer applications for Wilcox County Sheriff Office and traffic safety programs, Departmental speaker to local community organizations, and schools explaining programs on drug abuse, driving under the influence of alcohol, emergency disaster planning, and theft among juveniles. I also maintain Federal, State, and Local Internet Crimes Against Children and Missing and Exploited Children. In the past fifteen years, I worked with the Emergency Management Agency in disaster planning, and applying for grants. I am Second in Command for supervising and training correctional officers and deputies. I have been in law enforcement since I have thousands of hours of advanced law enforcement training. I have the management and leadership abilities and experiences it takes to do the job as Sheriff.

Candidate For Sheriff Earnest “Chief” Evans Honest, Experience, Qualified and Good Reputation As Your Sheriff As Sheriff, I will bring about positive changes to the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office. I will create a more proactive law enforcement agency in order to deter crime. I will ensure that there are deputies on duty and the county is patrolled at all times. I will keep an open door policy, in which anyone that needs to speak with the Sheriff will have the opportunity. I will make the time, not only to listen to your concerns as a Wilcox County citizen, but also to work with you for a solution. As Sheriff, I will encourage county residents to voice their comments, complaints, or suggestions in regards to the service provided by the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office. By listening to your concerns, it will help me in making any necessary changes to improve the services that the Sheriff's Office provides for you. I will work to establish programs that will benefit Wilcox County residents and make Wilcox County a safer place to live, work, and visit. I will work with other leaders to help bring Jobs into Wilcox County.

Candidate For Sheriff Earnest “Chief” Evans Drug Interdiction Program The Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies will aggressively work to identify, target, and neutralize known drug operations and those individuals trafficking drugs into, out of, and through our county. Crime Prevention Program Residents will be able to call the Sheriff's Office and with the assistance of the Sheriff and/or a deputy, receive advice on making themselves, their homes and property more resistant to crime and theft. Traffic Safety Program Will be a preventative measure in order to help keep Wilcox County's roads and highways safe from excessive speeding and intoxicated drivers. Project Good Neighbor This program is designed for Wilcox County Senior Citizens who live alone and/or have life threatening medical conditions. The Sheriff's Office would contact these citizens by telephone to check on their well- being.
