29 What is CERT? Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs: educate people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area. train basic disaster response skills such as – fire safety – light search + rescue – team organization – disaster medical operations 29

30 What do we do? Assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. 30

31 Non-emergency roles Support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. 31
