2 Dublin Police Services Historical facts
On February 2, 1982 the City of Dublin incorporated and began contracting Law Enforcement Services with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff at the time was Glenn Dyer and the City Manager was Richard Ambrose. The amount of the original contract was $1,114,442.00 The City was 4.1 square miles at the time and the population was 14,520.

The Sheriff’s Office Commander assigned to Dublin Police Services serves as the Chief of Police and within the Sheriff’s Office, reports to the Assistant Sheriff of Law Enforcement Services. Within the City of Dublin, the Commander/Chief reports to the City Manager to ensure that Dublin Police Services remains committed to the priorities established by the Mayor and City Council to ensure that we meet the needs of our citizens.

15 Investigations The investigations division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations with the goal of identifying and arresting the person(s) responsible for alleged crimes. They investigate: Crimes Against Persons Property Crimes Forgeries Auto Thefts Narcotics/Vice Operations (Craig’s List Operations)

16 Patrol Operations Respond to calls for service Self initiated activity
Traffic enforcement, patrol checks, follow up, citizen contacts, business checks, foot patrols

17 Traffic Unit The traffic unit’s mission is to enforce traffic laws to ensure all drivers will be safe on the streets of Dublin. The officers not only enforce traffic regulations, but also investigate vehicle accidents that occur within the boundaries of the city.
