Inquiry & Analysis: (to be completed by 24 th Feb 2015) (This is what is required of you in a word document) 1.Identify the Problem. -Explain and justify the problem 2. What is the solution to the problem you have identified.? Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation LQ: Is it necessary to investigate on a device I have chosen to talk about?

Research on the item that you intend to work on and learn about how it works also passing on the message to others. 1. Why did you choose the item? 2. What are the inner components of the item? 3. How does that item work? 4. Is it possible to trouble shoot the problem if found? LQ: Is it necessary to investigate on a device I have chosen to talk about? Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

Write a Design Brief. Design Brief. The Design Brief is a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it for. It should be an open ended statement ( words at least) Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

DESIGN SPECIFICATION The Design Specification is the most crucial element of the Investigate phase of the Design Cycle. A good Design Specification should include information that you learned about the task/problem from your research. It is a list of requirements that your design ideas must meet plus a list of constraints that you have. It is the check list that you need to use when you start to make your design ideas. Remember you need to create at least 3 web pages (more if you like to).requirementsconstraints AOI – Human Ingenuity ATL – Information Literacy

After your research you can develop a Design Specification. This will tell you: The Audience- Who you are designing for (who will watch your movie) Objective - What the successful design must do: This is a description of what the solution will accomplish. It could indicate how well the solution is expected to work or under what conditions it will work Production - o What it should look like (Size/colors/Fonts/Background/any other ideas you think of.) o What software will you use to complete the task? o Tools needed to make the product. o Time needed to complete the pro duct Usage - How it will be used?

Please refer to the website below to help you guide through the project: INVESTIGATION – DOCUMENT LAYOUT TITLE (INVESTIGATION – PROJECT 3 How Stuff Works) Global Context - Problem Identification Design Brief(SOLUTION) Research on the Gadget (Specification, Features, Inner components, How it works, Advanatages and disadvantages to people using it) Conclusion – Briefly mention whether the intended solution will work and why? SUBMISSION 24 th Feb 2015 – Please check if your document has all the above mentioned components. Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

Criteria – B: Design Section You are expected to create three designs of your web pages and then justify them against the design specifications. You must then choose one design and write a paragraph explaining why you chose it. You must make sure the design you have chosen is detailed. Learning Question: How does sketching good designs help in completing my final product? Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

Learning Question: How does sketching good designs help in completing my final product? You may visit the internet to look at some of the web page templates to sketch your designs. Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

Criteria – C: PLAN Section Planning is a crucial part of the whole design process. You should have a: Production Plan : Step by step guide for creating that could be followed. Use some drawings to illustrate construction. Indicate tools/equipment/skills needed. LQ: How can good planning help you in completing the task?

A Materials List (type of material, size, number required) Plan your Time. Include a Timeline as to how long you would take to complete each task. Example shown below:Timeline Task to completeTimeTime taken to complete Completed the task or not Creating the home page1 lesson (1 hour) 25 minutesYes Titles added20 minutesTo continue. Complete PLAN by next Sunday

The create phase is, obviously when you make your product or solution. This could be in the Technology workshop or it could be a Computer Technology solution. The process is the same. Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

Create something to the best of your ability. Global Context- Scientific & Technical Innovation

LQ: Why do you need to reflect upon how you performed in completing the project and the product? SELF EVALUATION: Write about your involvement with the project right from the Investigation stage till you completed the product. PRODUCT EVALUATION: Write about your product/solution. > Why do you think that your website is the best?  How does it impact the society?  Get TWO peers in your class to feedback on your product.
