Ud/Uds Commands

What are they?  Ud and Uds commands are formal commands  Examples:  Mr. Waters, wear your ID  Teachers, don’t yell at students

How to form them  Put the verb in the yo form and drop the o just like we did for negative tu commands  Add e or en for AR verbs  Add a or an for ER and IR verbs

 Cortar = corto = cort = Señor, corte el papel  Servir = sirvo = sirv = Señoritas, sirvan la ensalada  To make them negative, add no  No corte  No sirvan

Attaching Pronouns  Attach DOPs to the end of an affirmative command  Poner la mesa  Pongala / Ponganla  With negative commands, put the pronoun right before the command  No la ponga / No la pongan
