WBT: How to Work the Office Xerox Machine Ofelia Salcedo 8/1/10 EDTC Application Instructional Tech

Needs Assessment: The instructional/training problem or opportunity In my job, not many people know how to use the xerox machine available to us. I found this to be a perfect problem to create a web based training on.

Needs Assessment: (cont.) The analysis of the gap between what is available and what should be available There really isnt anything available to us, but i may also provide a sort of manual to help the "students" on their WBT.

Needs Assessment: (cont.) The recommended solution for filling the gap The manual and WBT will fill in the gap by providing something that wasnt there before; a way for us to learn how to use the xerox machine.

Instructional Goal: After completing this lesson, students will know how to successfully scan and send a document through a xerox machine.

Performance Objectives: After completing the WBT, the student will take the quiz at the end, with 70% accuracy or higher. After completing this lesson, students will know how to successfully scan and send a document, through a xerox machine Using the office xerox machine, the student will scan a document, and send it to its desired location.

Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Performance ObjectiveAssessment 1. After completing the WBT, the student will take all that they have learned, and strive to pass the quiz at the end. The quiz questions are not finalized as of now but their going to be questions like; What button do you press to copy the paper? What is step 1 in sending a document? What is the final step in sending a document through the xerox machine? 2. Using the office xerox machine, the student will scan a document, and send it to its desired location. To asses this objective, all that the student must be able to do is to copy, then send the document to its desired location. If they do that then they have learned how to xerox.

Learner Characteristics: The intended audience would be my fellow co workers. They need to know at least the basics on xeroxing; putting in paper, putting the paper facedown, simple things not too hard. If they have ever successfully send a document, if not then to put the WBT into more depth.

Learning Context: The intended instructional settting is a worplace setting, included with a xerox machine, you need the internet in order to send the document to a address, and this setting would only be available whenever you work i.e. work hours.

Instructional Strategies: In this WBT you will learn how to scan, and send a document through a xerox machine. The objectives are as followed: After completing the WBT, the student will take the quiz at the end, with 70% accuracy or higher. After completing this lesson, students will know how to successfully scan and send a document, through a xerox machine Using the office xerox machine, the student will scan a document, and send it to its desired location. Have you ever wanted to xerox, and send a document without going throught the hassel of mailing? Well now you can if you go through my simple WBT, and you will be able to send a document in no time!

Instructional Resources: A document, or a paper that is not blank that you would want to send, a xerox machine, blank white paper, internet, and a computer (you will send the document to yourself first to see if you got it)

Formative Evaluation: Subject Matter Expert A fellow coworker that i know can send documents really well and does it all the time (sometimes for me) but he is always busy so he really cant teach anyone. I will show him my WBT and manual and he will tell me if it has good content validity, content flow, and audience appropriateness.

Formative Evaluation: (cont.) Peer Evaluation With the peer evaluation, i will ask the same co worker on what he thinks about the WBT and he would be able to tell me the overall quality and appropriateness of the training module.

Summary Through softchalk i will create a WBT, and through word a training manual, and the student will take the WBT and the manual wiill help them along the way. The purpose of my WBT is to teach my co workers on how to use the office xerox machine, as many do not know how, and once they complete my WBT they should be able to scan and send a document without hesitation.
