Bible Bucks and the Marketplace Kids’ Store

Bible Bucks is an incentive program at Central Children are rewarded for attendance, good behavior, reciting memory verses or challenges, and bringing guests. Each classroom has a “Bible Buck Bank” with money to distribute to the kids. What are Bible Bucks?

How are they distributed? Please distribute Bible Bucks at the end of class so it will not be an added distraction Give them to the children to put in their own envelopes For guests, give them an envelope and write their name on it (new envelopes are in the first drawer) Don’t forget – children must return their envelopes to the chart at the end of the day

How to Earn Bible Bucks Don’t worry, you don’t have to memorize this chart. It is printed and posted in every classroom During gathering time, ask if children can recite their memory verses or challenges. Reward them accordingly. The month’s memory verse and challenges are posted on the corkboard in every classroom. Memory verses and challenges are retroactive (meaning children can recite last month’s if they like). Children can only be rewarded once per verses/challenges (meaning if they successfully recited it before, they cannot be rewarded again).

Keeping Track There is a teacher’s notebook in each classroom. Inside this notebook is a chart to help you keep track of what verses and challenges have been recited. As soon as a student recites a verse/challenge, mark it in the notebook so other teachers can keep track of what has/has not been completed. Come to Sunday School on time (or earlier) Attendance Good behavior Recite a memory verse Bring a friend First time visitor Birthday present Complete a memory challenge Lord’s Prayer/ Apostle’s Creed/Twelve Disciples/ Ten Plagues/Psalm 23/Ten Commandments Recite either of the Old or New Testament books Recite all the books of the Bible *Cannot be rewarded if you previously recited the books separately. All memory challenges/verses and reciting the books of the Bible can be done only once

Hundred Dollar Bible Buck Club If a student has earned and SAVED $100 Bible Bucks, they are included in the Hundred Dollar Bible Buck Club. This allows them to take a picture and have it posted in the hallway. The purpose of this “club” is to encourage children to continue earning and saving their money. If they have collected $100, tell Rev. Karen, so that she can take their picture for the poster.

Kids’ Store Children can redeem their Bible Bucks for toys and trinkets in the store The store is stocked and items are labeled with prices There is no “cashier” at the store – please collect their Bible Bucks when they want to purchase something The store will be moved from the Marketplace to the Coliseum soon

Kids’ Store The store is currently located in the Marketplace classroom at the end of the hall, but will be moved to the Coliseum soon. The store has a number of toys and trinkets to purchase All items are labeled with prices You can cover up the store items when lesson or large group is in session, if it is a distraction for the kids

Stock The store is kept in stock with everything except the $100 items, which must be ordered. If a child wants to order a $100 item, please contact Rev. Karen with the details. If there is an item that is low in stock, contact Rev. Karen to replenish it.
