2. Revved about Reading™ is a reading incentive program sponsored by Gumdrop Books™. This pledge-based literacy event has a purpose – to put books into the hands of our greatest resources – our children! In addition, it will benefit the school in the form of library books for your library and/or classrooms. The pledge money is distributed to the school in two ways: 1. Students will redeem points for books for their personal collection. 2. The library will receive hard-cover, guaranteed-binding books and classrooms will receive paperback books for their collection. What is Revved about Reading™?

3. Participants commit to read a minimum of 100 minutes over a five-day period. This is an average of 20 minutes per day. Students collect pledges from family and friends. Sponsors may pledge a flat rate ($10 regardless of how many minutes read) or may base their pledge amount on actual reading time ($10 per 100 minutes read). How does it work?

4. What do the students earn? Students earn book points. They will receive one point for each $5 in pledges submitted to the school. The retail value of the students’ earnings will be equal to the total pledges collected. The students will redeem their book points from an excellent selection of paperback and/or hard-cover books for their personal book collection. Many books are available for only one point.

5. What does the school earn? The library earns 50% of all pledges collected to purchase hard-cover, guaranteed-binding books from Gumdrop Books™.* There’s no minimum amount to qualify. You can select from over 300+ publishers including thousands of Accelerated Reader ® and Reading Counts! ® titles for your school. Teachers will also have an opportunity to add paperback books to their classroom. For every $300 an individual classroom raises, they will earn free books. Free MARC records and shipping. Accelerated Reader ® quizzes and superior, full-service cataloging are available. *Not transferable to prior orders

6. Revved about Reading™ requires No closing of the library No minimum dollar to achieve your goals No set-up, tear-down, or restocking No recruitment of volunteers No storing a rolling bookstore No difficult financial forms No delivery or pickup issues

7. Pick a date (minimum 6 weeks in advance) for your Revved about Reading™ event. Select an event leader to oversee and coordinate the reading program. About two weeks prior to the reading program, each student takes home the Revved about Reading™ event materials. The day of the event, the teachers send a reminder notice home to the parents indicating the event is starting. After the completion of the five-day event, the students should return the student log sheet, pledge money, and completed book reward order form to their teacher. 8. How do you redeem your rewards? The teachers should verify that the student received one point for each $5 collected. Then return all documents, the classroom reward order forms (if applicable), and pledge money to the event leader at the completion of the five-day event. The event leader will complete the closing statement then make copies of all paperwork. The originals need to be placed in a pre-addressed envelope to Gumdrop Books™. The shipment for the book rewards will be shipped as quickly as possible to reward the students for their efforts. Your professional Gumdrop Books™ representative will contact you to schedule a visit. During the visit, the school will select its hard-cover, guaranteed-binding books from a collection including thousands of Accelerated Reader ® and Reading Counts! ® titles from over 300+ publishers.

9. Revved about Reading™ Revved about Reading™ is a reading incentive program.
