Renaissance is a French word meaning rebirth. This was the 1400 c onwards. Many great artists, sculptors, writers,architects, doctors, scientists and inventors were from this time. E.g. Leonardo Da Vinci, William Shakespeare and Johann Gutenberg.

Gutenberg came from southern German city of Mainz. was a goldsmith and printer in Germany. He invented the printing press.

Andreas Dritzehen was both a goldsmith and a diamond cutter. He was Johann Gutenberg partner. He helped with the Printing press

Gutenberg's process made use of an old grape crusher. This is called the a wine press.

The Bible was the first book ever printed it was in latin and was known as the Gutenberg Bible in 1455 also known as the 42-line Bible The book is now in the Library of Congress
