Anticipatory Set It is important in your writing to make clear why you are including some information, and to make sure your more important points stand out.

California Standard Written Conventions 8.1.3: Use subordination, coordination, apposition, and other devices to indicate clearly the relationship between ideas.

Input Some ideas are more important than others, and the writer has to emphasize their importance in various ways.
