Staff Bonus scheme - Paid half yearly to all employees, based upon the Society’s performance and calculated as a percentage of weekly wage Annual Performance & Development Review - This is an opportunity to discuss your performance, future development and training opportunities available to you. Staff Suggestion Scheme - Published staff suggestions and ideas to improve the Society’s performance in pursuit of our mission receive awards ranging from £25 to a maximum of £1,000 for the ‘Suggestion of the Year.’

Advantages of an Apprenticeship There are so many advantages of an apprenticeship, here are just a few! You get paid whilst gaining a qualification. You will learn by a combination of attending college, your training provider and your employer. You gain recognised qualifications - NVQs, Key Skills and a Technical Certificate. You will be trained to do a job. So you will have the skills necessary to do that job.

Retail Apprenticeships What does the programme involve? 18 months in length Individual training programme Complete an NVQ Level 3 in Retail skills Have a base store as well as spending time in other stores across our trading area. A chance to spend time at our Head Office Our Retail Apprenticeship started in 2010 and we now have 8 apprentices across our trading area

When you first start at a new store you’re always very nervous, but every colleague makes you feel welcome and I have made some great friends along the way.” Zoe Walker “ Since working here I have learnt a number of different things such as how to operate tills, checking off and putting out deliveries, setting up the store for promotion change over and how to order stock. I have really enjoyed having a variety of different responsibilities and learning different things all the time.”

Pharmacy Apprenticeships Our Pharmacy Apprenticeship started in 2011 and we now have 4 apprentices across our trading area What does the programme involve? 2 years in length Individual training programme Complete an BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences Have a base store as well as spending time in other stores across our trading area. A chance to spend time at our Head Office

Candidate Requirements Retail Apprentices Previous experience in a retail or customer focused environment You will be confident Good communication skills Able to plan and organise your work Keen to progress in a career in Retail Pharmacy Apprentices You will need to have GCSE, to Grade C, in English, Maths and at least 1 Science subject
