4 Course Objectives  Explore the role of IT in decision making  Explore the role of IT in supporting business functions’ activities.  Explore the role of information systems in obtaining an organizational competitive advantages  Understand issues related to the use of IT: security, ethics, etc.  Distinguish between types of information systems  Investigate the principles, practice, methodologies and terminology used in designing, developing and implementing information systems in organizations
