Design a switch for a circuit What are the parts needed to make a circuit?

First 2 slides only: ysical_processes/electrical_circuits/read/1/ ysical_processes/electrical_circuits/read/1/ 68.asphttp:// 68.asp sical_processes/electrical_circuits/play/ sical_processes/electrical_circuits/play/ Go to next slide to answer BCR question BY YOURSELF on notebook paper.

Circuit BCR What do all circuits need to work? In your response be sure to include: Explain the 3 things all circuits require. Tell the job that each item does in the circuit. SAMPLE ANSWER Circuits need a power source, a load or resistor, wire and a switch (optional) to work. The power source supplies the force or energy needed to get the electrons flowing. The load or resistor, such as a light, shows us that the circuit is working. The wire carries the current through the circuit. The switch is used to turn the circuit on & off. (optional) 3 pts. possible

You are the Engineers! Instructions: 1. Your group needs to design a system that will turn a light on and off in the hallway of a new office building. 2. Build a working circuit with just a battery, wire and a bulb. 3. Next, add a switch in such a way that the switch turns the bulb on and off. 4. Draw and describe your circuits and switch on notebook paper. 5. Discuss your designs and experiences with the class.
