Good Practices There are no water leaks in the facilities Most of students toilets faucets are time taps. There is an automatic watering system with drip irrigation Automatic watering is done early in the morning, daily in the summer and cut in the winter.

Good Practices There are no leaks in the irrigation system. There are no leaks in the plumbing distribution system. The washing machine and the dish washer are always turned on when full. There are signs and posters near the toilets and bathrooms to highlight the importance of using water responsibly.

Practices to be improved Only half of the faucets are timed and there is not any saving device on them. Most of the cisterns in the toilets are traditional ones. Only 10% have double discharge.There is not any saving system. Sometimes leaky faucets and cisterns have been found. There has been an awareness campaign last year and this year to inform students about how to use water responsibly.

Practices to be improved There are 8 showers, but they are not much used because of the lack of hot water. There are not any saving devices. There is not a system to collect rain water and reuse it. The green areas are watered in the morning.

PROPOSALS Replace conventional turn faucets with timed ones. Replace conventional toilet cisterns with double volume of water discharge. Carry out an awareness campaign in order to sensitise the school community towards a more responsible water use. Watering overnight.

Good Practices Almost 100% use showers instead of baths ……( 99,15) During shower 52% of families close it when soaping. During the teeth brushing, the faucet remains closed in almost every hosehold……….… (88%) All families have a washing machine and most have a dish washer……………..… (100%, 69%) Most families have a dish washer ……..…..( 69%) During the manual dish washing the faucet remains closed in almost every household………………….(81%).

Good Practices More than half of the families have cisterns with two different amounts of discharge …………..(55%) Most families use washing machines and dish washers only when full……….….(88% and 85%) There are not leaks in the gardens watering system …………….………………………..(94%)

Practices to be improved More than half of the families do not have saving devices in faucets, showers and cisterns….(57%, 53%, 65%) Most spend more than 5 minutes in the shower: –57%: 5-10 minutes –33%: minutes In 95% of the households, rain water is not saved and then reused. In 60% of town areas/villages there have not been any information campaign to implement the rational use and saving water.

Families Proposals Most of the families consider they make a rational use of water at home………86% 68% of the families agree with paying the water bill according to their consumption. Most of the inquired have no proposals (58%), and the others claim different ones : Information/awareness campaingns ……….. 16% Save and reuse rain water……… …14% Reduce watering gardens, no golf fields…….. 8% Others concerning to personal hygiene…….. 14%
