3. Definition of water The word water comes from the latin aqua, it’s an odourless, insipid and discoloured substance, formed by two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Curiosities  Water is the component that appears in greater abundance in the earth's surface, it covers 71% of the planet.  It is vital for all known forms of life.  Water on earth moves continually through the water cycle of evaporation and transpiration, condensation, precipitation and runoff, usually reaching the sea.
