Teenage depression isn't just bad moods. Depression is a serious problem and it changes a lot of things in a teenagers life. if left untreated it could lead to drug abuse, problems at home or school, self loathing and even suicide. Depressed teens don’t always appear sad and withdraw them self for others. For some depressed teens the symptoms are irritability, aggression, and prominent rage.

There are many different sings and symptoms of teen depression these include sadness or hopelessness, Irritability anger or hostility, frequent crying, withdrawing from friends and family, loss of interest in activities, change in eating or sleeping habits, Restlessness and agitation, Feeling worthless and guilt, lack of energy, difficulty concentrating, unexplained physical problems like back pain or head aches and thoughts of death and suicide.

There are different types of depression with different effects of what they do, but most of the symptoms overlap with each other. there is major depression witch effects you with a sad or angry mood and the ability not to experience pleasure. Major depression is normally a recurring disorder. Atypical Depression you feel good while out with friends or hear good news but after the feeling goes away you feel worthless. Dysthymia a low grade witch lasts up to two years.

There is no single cause for depression it is normally brought on by a past experience like life stay factors, loved on dieing or it can be brought on with genetics. People who are isolated by few family members and few friends are more prone to becoming depressed. Some risk factors of being depressed are loneliness, lack of social support, Recent stress, family history with depression, relationship problems, drug or alcohol problems, health problems, unemployment and early childhood abuse or trauma.

There are different treatments for depression some of these include if you loved one or a family member is depressed try and spend as much time with them as possible and make them fell like you need them and want them around, before you help a loved one or a family member with depression make sure you yourself and capable enough of helping, collapsing under the pleasure of thins will make the person worse. If you cant help consult a doctor or try and get someone else to help you.
