How to Form the Future Tense To form the future tense, you need to use the phrase ‘voy a’ which means ‘I am going’ and the infinitive of the verb you wish to use. I am going to sweep the floor. Voy a barrer el piso. Voy a + infinitive + noun.

Some Examples… I am going to cook the dinner. Voy a cocinar la cena. I am going to lay the table. Voy a poner la mesa. I am going to eat the dinner. Voy a comer la cena.

A Good Phrase to Use! Este fin de semana = this weekend. Este fin de semana, voy a comer la cena. This weekend, I am going to eat the dinner.
