MOTIVATIONAL TALKS TO STUDENTS A motivational talk on “Campus Selections” was conducted for the 1 & 2 semester students on January 11 th by Prof. Nagarajan. Another motivational talk on “How to Prepare and face Examinations” was conducted for the 1 & 2 semester students on March 11 th and 12 th by Fr.Toby Joseph.

PTWA MEETING Meetings were conducted in a very systematic and organized manner in the department for the parents of 1 & 2 semester students.

REMEDIAL COACHING For the students writing supplementary exam in the subjects Engineering Mathematics I, Engineering Mathematics II, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mathematics IV remedial coaching was given from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the month of February and March.

CONFERENCE ATTENDED Dr.Nixon Kuruvila delivered the Keynote address entitled “Parametric Influence and Optimization of Wire EDM on Hot Die Steel” at 7 th Australian Congress on Applied Mechanics, (ACAM7) held in University of Adelaide, Australia, from 9 th to 12 th December, Department of Science and Technology (DST)gave financial assistance for attending this International conference.

WORKSHOPS ATTENDED Ms.Shini Shanmughan and Ms.Reshma Antony participated in a one day workshop on ‘water treatment’ conducted by APHEK Thrissur chapter and CCDU Trivandrum, March 9, 2013.

PAPERS PUBLISHED Dr.Nixon Kuruvila published a paper titled “Optimisation and influence of process parameters for machining oil hardened non- shrinking steel (OHNS)in wire-EDM” in an international journal of Machining and Machinability of Materials. Vol. 12, No. 4, 2013.

GOOD – BYE TO DEPARTMENT Civil Engineering department is going to function as an independent department from June 1 st 2013.

GOALS ACHIEVED  Innovative method for Parents meet was implemented successfully.  Attending Seminars and publishing papers was partially successful.

HIGHER STUDIES Ms.Gokhila Chandran (Civil Engg.) is doing her M.Tech Programme in “Computer Aided Structural Design”.

FUTURE PLAN Planning to implement Gurukulam and S4S programs more effectively from the next batch of 1 & 2 semester students. Planning to give extra coaching to weaker students. Planning to conduct Foundation course at at Sahrdaya Tech, Irinjalakuda.
