Once per month, CAMP hosts a one-hour workshop highlighting professional, business, and community leaders within the college community to speak with students on a topic within their area of expertise. The topics are designed to enhance, inspire, and motivate students to stay in school and remain focused on their dream of completing their first year of studies and continuing on to earn a college degree. The theme for the 2011-2012 workshops is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Students are required to attend nine scheduled workshops in compliance with the CAMP student agreement contract which students sign at the beginning of the fall semester. The scholarship preparation planning workshop is the initial workshop held in late August or early September each year. It is facilitated by the CAMP Coordinator. A total of eight skill workshops follow and begin in September and end in April.

A Sign-In Record of Attendance is provided at each CAMP activity to properly record and verify student attendance. This record is maintained on file in the office of the CAMP Coordinator/Counselor. CAMP workshops are mandatory and students are exempt from attendance if they are attending class, lab or for an extenuating circumstance.

Using the CAMP Incentive Point Program (CIPP) tracking record, the CAMP Coordinator is able to accurately verify that all students attended skill workshops as well as other planned activities throughout the academic year. At the End-of-Year banquet ceremony held in April of each year, the two students with the highest number of overall points receive a plaque in recognition of their college participation. Research shows that students who are engaged in the college life experience are more likely to continue toward degree completion.

Students will attend all planned activities such as skill workshops, educational and cultural trips, social events, and tutoring, and must complete documented community service to earn points throughout the fall and spring semester. Students will be honored with an award for the highest number of participation points and the second highest number of participation points earned at the End-of-Year banquet.
