The Year Without a Santa Claus
Presentation transcript:

In the North Pole City there are hundreds of elves working throughout the year to get ready for Santa’s Toy run on Christmas Eve night. Each elf is very special and Santa gives each elf a very special name. An elf’s name is an important part of their personality and their job. Being one of Santa’s elves is a very prestigious position. Elves are meticulous about their work and follow rules to the letter. An elf’ takes their job so seriously, that no one dares to disrupt the rules. However, once there was a very naughty elf, named Peppercorn, who did not like to obey Santa’s rules. He liked to talk the other elves into getting acting mischievously with him. Peppercorn and his friends did many things they should not have done. They smoked peppermint pipes, and did not obey Santa’s candy cane safety rules. They became a little gang of elves that did not listen to their family and friends. No one wanted to be around them. They hammered the toys the wrong way and painted the holiday candy carelessly, and forgot to feed the reindeer! Their work became so poor that they became a danger to the other elves.t Santa had to do an intervention and take some kind of action. Santa did something that Santa had never done before…... Santa took Peppercorn and his friend's special names away. Then he put them on a strict schedule where they would be continually supervised by Rudolph and instructed by Blitzen and Dasher on how to do things in a safe way. Mrs. Claus started hot chocolate therapy for them right away. She also made sure that the chief elf, Gingerbread, started good character education classes everyday for Peppercorn and his little friends. Peppercorn and his buddies learned the hard way that once you disappoint the people that trust you it takes lots of hard work to prove yourself. Convincing everyone that you are not going to be careless or fall into you old bad habits is not easy. Many years later, Santa finally decided that his 22 little elves had behaved well long enough. They proved themselves by being good and committing to all of Santa’s rehabilitation programs. Santa decided the elves could have new names and new jobs. They promised to be examples to the other elves and sign the Drug Free School’s Pledge Form. They were assigned to the job of being a team and teaching children good character education to other elves and children around the world. Santa and his newly formed elf team learned that being drug free and following safety rules is not always easy things to do, especially when your friends ask you to do something you shouldn’t. Peer Pressure is not an easy thing to say “NO” to. It was holiday time and Santa was very busy...Santa had confidence in all the students at Parkview School so he sent the little elves to the children of Parkview and gave the them a very special job. He asked them to take on the job of naming the very special safety elves. As you walk around Parkview School you can see the elves and try to guess the new names the children have given them. Santa is very proud of the children at Parkview for taking on such an important job.
