WP3 summary Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze WP leader:INFORMEST, Gorizia (PP8) 41% of the WP b. Co-Leader:RRA Severne Primorske, Nova Gorica (PP2) 21% Main partners involved (20%): GZS Gospodarska Zbornica Slovenije, Nova Gorica (PP5) OZS Obrtno-podjetniška Zbornica Slovenije, Ljubljana (PP6) Main activities:3.1 Implementation of the KMS / feeding (WP7) 3.2 Implementation of a pilot project DBE

The KMS Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze The KMS is meant to collect and put at disposal of ITA and SLO entrepreneurs all the knowledge coming out from the iCON project activities as well as from relevant external sources. The KMS is not simply a document repository, nor a database: documents and data fed into the system must be pre-processed in order to extraxt the knowledge they contain, and also re-processed to establish typified links with other information objects’ in the system.

KMS feeders Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze The KMS will be fed by a group of ‘KMS feeders’ selected among the project partners (at least 1 per partner), each one with his/her own private account to access the system. All the objects posted in the KMS are public, i.e. freely accessible by the generic Internet user. Each content inserted by a KMS feeder needs to be cross checked by another KMS f. before publication. In case of no-check within a pre-defined time limit, the object will be published with a no-check remark.

KMS objects Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze The KMS is a collection of information objects classified and inter-linked. The objects can be either in Italian or in Slovene language. An object can be: - A single paper document (a downloadable ‘file’) - A collection of documents and pictures (a ‘folder’) - A short note (self consistent comment – a ‘blog’ seed) - A video (media file or stream) - A downloadable software application

Handling the objects Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze The KMS feeders will handle the information objects following the procedure below: 1. Fill in the Object Identity Chart (containing data NOT related to object contents) 2. Classify the object content (using a pre-defined set of classification schemes and an open tagging system) 3. Introduce linkages between objects; linkages are set manually; while classes define properties of the object, linkages define objects’ relationships

KMS contents Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze - European and ITA/SLO standards, laws and regulations - Grants and tenders open to SMEs - Sectoral market researches (40 from WP5) and statistics - Map of innovation poles in the CB area - Map of services and competences in the CB area - Guidelines for territorial marketing (et al. The iCON pilot DBE will be a prototype ICT platform designed to let CB SMEs use, but also create and manage, shared services to support their business, in particular on the global market.
