Any user can access the Web directory and register any Reflexes 4020/4035 (digital or IP) set to make calls. This feature uses STAP (Simple Telephony Application Protocol) to place calls after the phone is registered. The STAP parameter has to be “authorized” in the related set user profile.

The search is performed after two characters are entered, and beginning with the OmniPCX phonebook and personal/groupware phonebook if any. By adding a third character, the search is extended to any additional external LDAP directory (Netscape, Lotus, Exchange. The LDAP directories can be added at the 4980 server level (therefore no programming required at the user client) or can be added by each user.

Note: The LDAP integration in OXE for the LDAP overflow on the Reflexes phones, is independent of the LDAP dialing from 4980 Softphone and 4059 MAC.
