Instructions: Read each slide. Use the information on the slides to complete the worksheet. Use the worksheet to help you complete the Spreadsheet Activity. Make sure to SAVE YOUR WORK!

Instructions: Yes, this is a graded assignment. Yes, the teacher will collect your papers at the end of class. Yes, you may help each other but you must do so QUIETLY and STAY IN YOUR SEATS! I expect to hear great things about you!

Front Worksheet Write your first and last and teacher’s name on the paper. Open Excel (green X on desktop) Use Excel to help you figure out the name of each item. Worksheet Back: Use the paragraph at the top of the back page to fill out the chart. On my web page, click and open the Spreadsheet Activity. If prompted click “yes” and the yellow button that says “Enable Editing”. After you have finished the assignment, SAVE IT, and answer the questions on your paper. If you get completely finished, go to Type To Learn 4.

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: “chocolate” and “strawberry” are covered by column B. Solution: Put your cursor between the column titles A and B. See the double- sided arrow? Click and drag to make the column wider.

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: the line graph doesn’t have titles. Solution: In Excel, click on “Chart Title.” Type an appropriate title. Do the same for the “Axis Title”

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: need to make bar graph Solution: Click and drag from “Flavors” to “5”. Should look like this: Click Insert tab, then Bar. Click a choice. Move your graph so you can see all of them.

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: need total number polled Solution: Click on B6 (yellow highlighted box.) Click on Auto Sum. Click Enter. Do the same for C6.

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: need to format table Solution: Click and drag from “Flavors” to “5”. Should look like this: On the Home tab, click “Format as Table”. Choose a color scheme. Click okay.

Spreadsheet Assignment: Problem: need to format table (continued) Solution: Make sure table is still selected. On the Home tab, change the font style to Times New Roman and the size to 16. Resize columns if needed.
