How to Setup MS Word for a Research Paper Steps and Procedures
Step 1 Open Word Click on File and pull down to Page Setup and click
Step 2 Change all the Margins to 1.0” Click on ‘OK’
Step 3 Click on View, pull down to Header and Footer, and click.
Step 4 Make sure your font is changed to Times New Roman, Size 12. Prior to typing any of your text. Type your Last Name.
Step 5 Highlight your name and click on the Right align tool in the toolbar. Note: If you Right Align tool does not appear in the toolbar click on the More Buttons in the toolbar and click on it. It should now appear in the toolbar.
Step 6 Click on the Insert menu, pull down to Page Numbers, and click.
Step 7 Change the Position to Top of page (Header) Change the Alignment to Right Click ‘Ok”’
Step 8 Click on ‘Close’
Step9 Type your name, date, and class name. Press Enter after each is typed. Highlight your text and change the font to Times New Roman, Size 12, and Left Align.
Step 10 Type the Title of your paper. Highlight the text and click on Center alignment tool in the toolbar. Press Enter.
Step 11 Type the first sentence of your paper.
Step 12 Click in front of your sentence and press Tab.
Step 13 Highlight your sentence. Either: Double Click on the sentence. Click at the beginning and drag to the end.
Step 14 Click on Format, pull down to Paragraph, and click.
Step 15 Change the Line Spacing to Double by clicking on the down arrow. Click on the ‘Ok’ button.
Step 16 Continue typing the rest of your paper.
