Benefits When we acknowledge our biases, have an open mind, and respect differences :  Increased effectiveness of team members  Reduced conflict  Increased morale, decreased turnover  Decrease in discrimination claims  Better communication

Recognizing Diversity  Differences arise from backgrounds and culture  Differences are not always visible  Every difference has its strengths and weaknesses  One is not better or worse than another

Approaching Diversity  Be aware of and respect our differences  Be sensitive and fair with others  Recognize everyone has different needs  Acknowledge contributions with positive strokes  Recognize our own prejudices
