Questions: What is the International Club family? What are their ideals? How are they organised? How do they function? What makes an IC successful?

A PROUD HISTORY AND A VIBRANT FUTURE It all began 87 years ago, in 1924 First International Club (IC) was founded in London by tennis journalist, Wallis Myers Encouraged by the former British Prime Minister Lord Balfour. They saw the beneficial influence of sport on relations between nations. The success and worldwide reputation of the first IC led to the establishment of many similar clubs around the globe

The family now consists of 38 countries who have a live International Lawn (as opposed to Real) Tennis Club The flags following, are representative of each of their unique colour combinations for tie and scarf

Their ideals are: to encourage sportsmanship, fairplay and friendship across the world, through tennis “Hands across the net, friendship across the ocean”

25 years later, the IC Council established as governing body (1949) The IC Council represents international club members including the Davis Cup or Fed Cup players IC Members include Roger Federer, Tim Henman, Kim Klijsters, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal Some are past winners of Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon, the US, the Australian and the French Open.
