What is an Address Bar? URLs start with “ and they don’t always have “www” in them. The address bar can be used to type in a new Internet location or to show you where you are on the Internet.

How do Boolean Operators help with Internet searches? Boolean Operators include AND, OR and NOT, and they are typed in all capital letters. Instead of Boolean Operators, you can also use a plus sign (+) instead of AND or minus sign (-) instead of NOT.

How are hyperlinks helpful? Hyperlinks are usually made to look different, for instance, they are usually in blue, underlined text. Also, your mouse pointer will change when it moves over a hyperlink.

TRUE or FALSE? The Internet and Internet Explorer are the same thing. The Internet is a collection of networked computers, but Internet Explorer is a software program.

What is a Search Engine? Google, Bing, Ask and Yahoo are examples of search engines.

Should you use Keywords or sentences when you search on the Internet? Why? Every word you type in a search box is part of the search, so if you type extra words, you will get extra search results you don’t need.

Why shouldn’t you share private information on the Internet? If you share private information, like your address or passwords, people can find out exactly who you are and where you are. They can break into your accounts, steal your identity, rob you, or otherwise harm you.

What kinds of questions should you ask about a web page before deciding to use it as an information resource? You need to ask questions like: Who owns and wrote this web page? What is their purpose for writing it? When did they create or update the page? Where on the Internet is the page located (domain)? Why is this page better than others?

If you use someone’s web page as an information resource, what do you have to remember to do? You need to write a bibliographic citation, telling: Who. What. Retrieved When from Where.

What do you need to do right after you add a graphic (picture, WordArt, Clipart, etc.)? You need to format the graphic so you can place it where you want it to go on the page. Double-click the graphic, and choose the “Text Wrapping” button. Then, choose Square, Tight, Behind Text or whatever option you need.

How do you use Print Preview? You use Print Preview to see how a page will look before you might print it. It shows if you have dragged a graphic into the margins in error, or if you have not spaced everything well on the page.
