Bus Route Information Found in the newspaper the week before school starts. On the County website Available back to school night

Transportation Students should be standing at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to scheduled time. Preschool, kindergarten and first grade students should be met at the bus stop each afternoon. If a parent is not at the stop, the bus will bring the child back to school. When waiting for the bus, stay away from traffic and avoid roughhousing or other behavior that can lead to carelessness. Do not stray into the streets. Line up away from the street as the school bus approaches.

Use the handrail when stepping onto the bus. When on the bus, find a seat and sit down. Loud taking or other noise can distract the bus driver and is not allowed. Never put head, arms or hands out of the window. Keep book bags out of the aisle because it is a tripping hazard. No eating or drinking on the bus. Keep all belongings in book bag At your stop, wait for the bus to stop completely boarding before getting up from your seat

If you cross the street always cross in front of the bus If you cross the street always cross in front of the bus. Make sure the driver can see you. Wait for the driver to signal for you to cross. If you think you have left something on the bus never come running back to the bus. Anything left on the bus will be kept for your child to retrieve the following day.

Changes in Transportation Please send any changes in transportation to the teacher. If your child is going home with another student, we need a note from you and a note from that parent as well. Transportation changes need to be called in by 1:00.

Absences/Attendance If your child is absent, please call the school by 8:15 to notify us of the absence. Otherwise, the school will try to contact you sometime during the day. Attendance is a habit that starts early. Students miss out if they are not at school. The school starts looking at attendance as an issue after a child has missed 5 or more days or is tardy 5 or more days a semester. Excessive tardies and early dismissals are also a violation of the attendance policy.
