 Change your CV for every placement  Read the placement specification and change your CV to highlight the points they are looking for.  What skills have you gained hat they are looking for? Highlight these.  Also do the same in the covering letter.  It is very easy to see if you are just sending the same CV out to multiple placements. Do:

 Think it is obvious you are brilliant because you get good marks  What skills do you have  Write long paragraphs.  4 lines is long, 5 is too long, 6 is boring  Remember they may have to read 40 CV’s Don’t

 Create a CV and covering letter  No more than 3 pages in total  to to  By 8 th June  I will then send all of the CV’s back to you with the rating form (from Careers Web site)  You need to grade the CV’s (Create a Top 10 only)  Fill in the form, with constructive comments on ALL CVs and return these in the post to me by 1 st September.  Hopefully this will let you see what the placement selector sees.
