What is a mentor?

Someone to; talk to laugh with cry alongside feel cared for help find ways to persist listen to friendship issues build confidence develop self-awareness teach ways make positive changes develop new, organisational systems set up new, refreshing plans/goals A mentor?

Discussion Discussion: Reflect on your past - Who helped you find your compass? How old were you? What did they say? What did they do? How did they gently build your belief? How did they plant optimistic seeds? Who was it?

It’s all about relationship

And, it’s the same for teachers. Students quickly determine a teacher’s emotional character. Then, make a decision whether they will trust and enjoy, or challenge and react; Is my teacher moody? Does my teacher shout? Does my teacher get annoyed too easily, too often? Does my teacher admit when they have made a mistake? Is my teacher safe? Is my teacher one way to my parent and another way to me? Is my teacher fair? Does my teacher like me?
