Summary Clinical audit is a tried and tested way of driving improvements in clinical services There are strong national and local drivers which require trusts to have the systems, processes and support in place to create the environment where these duties and needs can be fulfilled. Commissioners, patients and the public want to know that their local trust provides good quality services, and clinical audit can provide the evidence All healthcare professionals need to evidence that the care they give and services they provide are safe and effective and that all patients and service users have the best possible experience
