Aims of the Evening To gain an understanding of the Year 9 curriculum and the GCSE reforms, To be aware of what the Maths Team has put in place to help our students achieve their best, To gain an understanding of how to support your daughter to succeed with the best possible outcomes. GCSE Reform The new GCSE has more demanding content (Problem solving and Mathematical reasoning) and has a different grading scale. Grade 5 has a large proportion of old grade B content Grade 9 has some AS content About 3% of the population will be awarded a grade 9

Exams Board and Entry The Exams Board we follow is Pearson (Edexcel). Your child will follow either The Higher tier with grades from 4 to 9 The Foundation tier with grades from 1 to 5

How can you help your daughter? Research has shown that pupil attainment is highly influenced by parent support. Please encourage your child to practise, practise and practise.
