4 Revision and Consolidation Work
Three sets of activities have been uploaded twice onto Show My Homework so far. The next is tomorrow. These are aimed at those who achieved two or more grades below their MTG in the last assessment. Weekly Problem Solving This is an opportunity to look at how you approach and structure a solution to complex exam problem, under the supervision of a Maths teacher.

5 If your son does Structured Study Support, then he is encouraged to complete the uploaded work in those lessons. This is also the case for Tutorial every Monday morning.

24th May 2016 Dear Parent, ... IF YOUR SON’ S RESULT IS TWO OR MORE GRADES BELOW  HIS PREDICTED GRADE HE WILL NEED TO COMPLETE WEEKLY STRUCTURED CONSOLIDATION WORK UPLOADED ON SHOW MY HOMEWORK. THIS WORK IS IN ADDITION TO THEIR MATHS HOMEWORK SET TWICE A WEEK AND WILL BE UPLOADED EVERY FRIDAY. Next half term we will also offer the Year 10 a COMPLEX  PROBLEM SOLVING WORKSHOP TARGETING PUPILS WHO ARE PREDICTED GRADES 8 AND 9 AND ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACHIEVING THESE.   This will run every Wednesday in room 10 from 3:15 to 4:30 will focus on developing the higher thinking skills required for the highest grades. Useful materials available for self study: Maths watch CD (available to purchase from the Maths department at £4), Kerboodle virtual textbook, exercise book, Revision and Consolidation  sheets regularly uploaded onto SMH. Maths revision websites:  Please note that the exam board for Mathematics is EDEXCEL. Available support to everyone

8 Going forward ... Complete the consolidation work, devoting an extra 1-2 hours a week to Maths Use this summer to revise topics studied over the last two years Prepare for the mock exams now
