Year 4 Residential trip Beeston Centre

Why are we going? Personal Challenge Team Work Independence Outdoor learning Field study Fun

Day 1 Arrive at Beeston Centre – Lunch. Induction and bed making. Local walk Camp fire, weather permitting.

Day 2 Breakfast Willow weaving with Beeston Staff Orienteering Lunch Visit to local farm Tea Evening activities

Day 3 Pack and strip bedding. Breakfast. Local / on site activity. Lunch. Make way home. Parents to pick up at 2.30pm, we will let you know by text if earlier.

All meals and snacks are provided by the centre All meals and snacks are provided by the centre. Breakfast is toast and cereal. Lunch is a buffet with a choice of sandwiches and a hot option (i.e. sausage roll, pasty etc.), also fruit and yoghurt are available. For tea there is a choice of hot meals to choose from as well as juice and dessert. Juice and biscuits are provided at break time and hot chocolate for supper. If there are any specific dietary requirements or allergies noted on medicine forms we will let the centre know.

Wellies, waterproofs, florescent jackets and an all terrain buggy are available. Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Layers are particularly important. Please use the kit list for guidance.

The main entrance has a numbered key pad and all external doors have an intruder alarm that can be switched on over night. There are separate dormitories for boys and girls which sleep 16 in each with a separate over flow dormitory that sleeps 8. Staff rooms are strategically placed next to the dorms. To ensure safety at night, no food or sweets are allowed in the dormitories. Teachers will administer medication as required.

What now… Complete forms and return to school (Please don’t forget we need the date of last tetanus injection). Complete Pupil Code of Conduct together as a family. Prescribed medication, MUST be labelled and a school medical form must be completed.
