Funnybones Learning Map for Year 1: Autumn 2019 PE English Computing Please ensure your child reads each day Can I say how to maintain a healthy body and mind? Children exercise to see the affect it has on their heart rate. Can I create pictures in ActivInspire,? Can I use simple programs to find information? Can I move like an animal? Children learn how to stretch and balance using different animals as stimuli. Can I use role play and doctor themed small world area to write imaginative stories? Can I label the parts of my body? Children have the opportunity to learn about parts of the body and practise labelling humans and animals. Home Learning set on Thursdays and due back the following Tuesday PE Can I read for information? Funnybones themed guided reading English Computing Art Funnybones Can I recall my 5 senses? They will test materials and objects in order to explore their senses. Can I create a picture using a variety of methods? Learning to create pictures and discuss what they have done and how they might do it differently next time. Science Music Can I recall facts about my body? Looking at the main parts of the body and skeleton. Children will label and caption parts of the body. Geography History Can I sing songs about my body? Create music using body percussion and voice. PSHE Can I use maps and Apps to explore the world? They will look at the local area and identify human and natural features. Can I find 1 more or less than a number? Learning how to add or subtract small amounts. Maths RE Measuring humans and other creatures Skeleton counting Can I create maps of my environment? Looking at their environment and recording important elements. Can I say what makes me special? New classroom rules. Can I learn about Jesus’ miracles? Children to design a harvest basket for church. Can I collect and compare data based on ourselves? Learning how to create a class pictogram. Can I know what a carnivore is? Children to learn about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Children to design a lunch for each type of dinosaur. Can I sort objects into two groups? Learning how different objects can be grouped and how many items are in each.
