The Female Sex Cell (copy) The egg cell (female sex cell) is the largest cell in the body. Unlike the sperm cell, the egg does not swim. One egg is released each month, if the egg does not get fertilised, then it passes out the body along with the uterus lining- this is called menstruation, aka a period.
