Presentation transcript:

DENSITY= Mass/Volume Irregularly shaped objects have no formula for finding the volume. So, to find the volume of a rock, you measure how much water the rock displaces. First, fill the container to a certain volume, noting what that volume in this case use 30 ml. Next place the rock into the container and measure the new volume indicated by the water. Subtract this new volume with the old volume, and the answer will be the volume of the rock. To Find the mass simply weight the object on the scale.

Density Lab 1. Make an observation/ 2. ask a question: Which item has the greatest density? 3. Hypothesize: Which object has the greatest density in your sample? If I ____________ then _____________. why do you think this object has the greatest density? Test and record your data Analyze Data Conclusion: ____________had the greatest density in my sample. My results agree/disagree with my hypothesis.
