The main milestones in 2015 6 March: Press release for International Women's Day published by Eurostat 25 June: 2015 Gender Equality Index launched by the European Institute for Gender Equality. 9 October: Eurostat Regional Yearbook with the chapter on gender statistics 2 November: European Equal Pay Day organised by the European Commission (DG Justice) 3 December: Strategic engagement for gender equality 2016-2019 adopted by the European Commission

New predefined table "Gender overall earnings gap" The name of this indicator, initially labelled "Total earnings gap", was changed GOEG measures the impact of the three combined factors, (1) the average hourly earnings, (2) the monthly average of the number of hours paid (3) the employment rate, on the average earnings of all women of working age - whether employed or not employed - compared to men
