Simple, Compound, & Complex Sentences By : Hannah Clemmons

Simple Sentences A simple sentence is a sentence that has one independent clause and no dependent clauses. * Example : A little ghost went through a through the door. How are you today?

Compound Sentences A sentence composed of at least two coordinate independent clauses. Example : The skeleton played his bones loudly, and the vampire played an electric guitar.

Complex Sentences A sentence consisting of two sentences joined together in a way that one sentence explains the other. Example : The witch gave her teacher a gift, because she was a very nice person. Thank you so much for this gift. Your welcome!
