3 Simple sentence = one independent clause The boy ran home. Automobiles are the most important invention of the 20th century. Compound sentence = two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction The boy ran home and he started his homework.

4 Complex = independent and dependent clause together Even though he was offered a ride, the boy ran home. Compound complex = a combination Even though he was offered a ride, the boy ran home and he started his homework.

5 In X the university education is not free. Everyone has to pay for his/her education fees but we have a higher education loan board. (where) you can only apply for the first degree study loan that will cover some of your study expenses. and you are required to start paying the loan one year after finishing the studies, otherwise you will be charged 5% accrued intrest for every year until the day that you start ot pay the loan.

6 Higher education in school level is the key to gaining access to a university education for higher qualifications and better job opportunities, which ARE directly related to economic and technological development of a country.
