Recap! What new learning did you acquire about nouns today?

Do you know these rules for capitalizing nouns? 1. Capitalize names of parts of the country. Example: It is hot in the Southeast. However, do not capitalize directional words—they are common, not proper nouns. Example: Head southeast on Battlefield Boulevard.

Rules for Capitalizing Titles (proper nouns) Always capitalize the first, last, and main words in a title (omit articles and prepositions unless they’re the first or last word of a title). When typing, titles should be italicized. When handwriting a title, longer works should be underlined. Shorter works should be in quotation marks.
