4 Singular Nouns = Just one Ex: cat, Bob, pen Plural Nouns = More than one Ex: houses, hats, mice Possessive Nouns = Shows ownership Ex: cat’s, Bob’s, pen’s Add apostrophe and “s”, unless word ends in “s” …then just add apostrophe. Ex: students’, bass’

5 Concrete Noun: something that you can use one of your five senses with (smell, taste, hear, see, feel) Ex: desk, muscles, student Abstract Noun: an idea or nonphysical thing – something you can’t smell, taste, hear, see, or feel Ex: peace, strength, freedom

6  Compound Noun: two or more words as a noun Combine into one word  Ex: restroom, baseball Separate  Ex: hot dog, high school Hyphen  Ex: mother-in-law
