Mrs Graham and the Early Years Team Thank you for your cooperation Fox Class News 4.4.19 We have all had a super last week before the Easter break. This week in Reception we have been finding out all about the First Easter. We have listened to the story and then we all took part in making our own Easter garden, we planted seeds to create the grass and we planted beautiful flowers, we also put three crosses in the garden and placed a large stone in front of the cave. We had two storytellers come into our class and retold the story using props – this was really fun and we all listened beautifully answering lots of questions afterwards. We have also been exploring sequencing this week and have been ordering ‘how to plant a seed’. We followed some dance moves and were able to follow a dance sequence too! Today we have had an Easter egg hunt, getting ready for the real one! On Friday afternoon the children will be taking part in our Easter service at the church, you are welcome to join us and to collect your children directly after the service, however we will be walking children back to school if you are unable to attend. Over the Easter break I have given all the Reception children an Easter Diary, please use the diary to encourage your child to draw pictures, write about things they have done and to stick anything they would like to in it. We can share these after the holidays. In the Nursery the children have been very busy, on Monday they performed their amazing Mother’s Day assembly. I heard how lovely it was – a big well done to all the children! They have also been enjoying all the Easter crafts that are within our provision this week. On Wednesday we welcomed lots of new nursery children to a Stay and Play! It was lovely seeing so many new faces – we look forward to having lots of fun with our new friends after Easter! We wish you all a relaxing Easter and welcome you back on Tuesday 23rd April, Mrs Graham and the Early Years Team Diary dates: Friday 5th April Easter church service and last day of term Tuesday 23rd April return to school Notices: If you have not returned your child’s permission slip for our Reception trip to the theatre on 18th June PLEASE send this in ASAP. If you have mislaid the letter please ask us for another one. You are welcome to pay for the trip in instalments. Thank you for your cooperation
