1 St. Matthews Primary School “FRIENDSHIP” Thankfulness SCHOOL VALUES
This week we have talked about: “FRIENDSHIP” Thankfulness 18 May, 17 AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS TUESDAY to 4.15pm Drama and Craft Class 1 TUESDAY TO 4.15pm Ultimate Frizbee Class 2 THURSDAY 3.15 to 4pm Cricket Club up to half term. Afterschool clubs cost £1 each TRIP TO LING FELL, NEAR BASSENTHWAITE LAKE We had an amazing day at Ling Fell last Friday. All the children did really well and managed to climb up the fell. Special thanks to Mrs Beaty who organised the event. Parents and friends are welcome to join us on our walk around the village tomorrow (Friday) afternoon 1.15pm. Children should bring old clothes to wear and £1 donation. There will be a cake sale afterwards (donations welcome) All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research. CLASS 2 TRI GOLF On Monday 22nd May class 2 children are going to Beacon Hill school to take part in a Tri Golf tournament. They will need their PE kit. They will be back at school for usual finishing time.

2 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO LONDON Y3 ANNUAL RESIDENTIAL TRIP
LIBRARY VAN The library van is coming to school on 23rd May, can parents please ensure that all library books are sent back into school. Thank you RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO LONDON There will be a meeting for parents to discuss the residential visit at school on Tuesday 23rd at 6pm in school WHOLE SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPH The photographer is coming into school on Tues 23rd May to take the whole school photograph. Could children please come to school in their school uniform. Y1 Phonics screening week CLASS 1 VISIT TO TINY TOWN IN CARLISLE On Wednesday morning, 24th May all class 1 children are going on a trip to Carlisle to visit Tiny Town. They should wear their school uniform. HALF TERM Please note school closes next Friday for the half term holiday. We re-open on Monday 5th June. 3 THANK YOU We would like to say a special thanks to Nannie Grace Fink who came into school last week to talk to the children about her experiences during WW2, when she was evacuated from the East End of London. The children and adults were enthralled and really enjoyed listening to her story and asked lots of interesting questions.
